For Mothers

May 8, 2020

This post is in honor of our Mothers, our dedicated, amazing and selfless Mothers.  We applaud your work, and the gift you give to so many every moment of everyday.

For all the Grandmas out there too...a mom's work of caring, nurturing, guarding, advising, loving and so much more...it never ceases.

"She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." Proverbs 31:26

From our hearts to yours:

Dear Moms,

I commend you and everything you have been doing at home. Many of you have now become your child's teacher while still working and being mom. These tasks, sometimes do not mix well and can be difficult to juggle. You all inspire me! I am astounded by your efforts! May God bless you and your family on this Mother's day!
Sending virtual hugs.❤ Miss Cassie

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come."
 Proverbs 31: 25

To Mothers:

You are EVERYTHING. To your children (and let’s be honest your husband) you are a superhero. You swoop in to be the comforter, the supporter, the friend, teacher, nurse, chauffeur, personal chef, the shoulder to be sick on, the shoulder to cry on, the shoulder to sleep on...you name it! There’s no description of your job….because you are EVERYTHING. You hold the weight of the world on your shoulders. From the beginning, you never stop molding and shaping amazing human beings. You teach them kindness, empathy, compassion, teamwork, you teach them EVERYTHING. Being a mother is hard and exhausting, but it is the best job in the world and as your child wraps their arms around you and whisper in your ear “Mommy, I love you”, you can breathe and know that you are doing an amazing job because to them you are EVERYTHING!

From one mom to another, I see you and appreciate all you do!

"Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'"
Proverbs 31:28–29

To all of our fantastic SJB mothers!

Thank God for this opportunity to celebrate you and thank you for answering the call to motherhood!  I am especially in awe this extraordinary Spring of all times, when so much has suddenly been asked of you above and beyond.  Whether through my time with your children, or enjoying the pictures of your time with your children, I am blessed by your generous example of Christian love and fruitfulness, and the priceless joy of your children.  I am astounded by the resourcefulness and ingenuity of our SJB moms in continuing your children's education from afar, and inspired by your witness of dedication and diligence.

Happy Mother's Day!

"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31:31

Dear Moms,

Happy Mother's Day! May you be showered with particularly abundant blessings as you might be experiencing aspects of motherhood that you didn't expect this year! As I am about to enter the adventure of motherhood myself, I am inspired by your constant love for your children and devotion to their well-being inside and out. You show how much selflessness it takes to be a mother, how much you carry on your shoulders and hold in your heart, and how much love you constantly pour out. You are so amazing! Thank you for all you are doing to be such incredible mothers to your children and for the enrichment you bring to our school community. May God bless you!

"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:13-14

I've always found it fascinating that if you flip the word "MOM" over it becomes "WOW". How fitting! To all the moms of our SJB students, wow, you are amazing!

In the last two months you have been cook, chauffeur, nurse, catechist, teacher, counselor, maid, comforter, scientist, lawyer and so much more. And while it may seem overwhelming and daunting at times, these are the same things you've been doing since the moment you became a mother. You were the first one to nourish and carry your children from the moment of conception. You were the first one to kiss their bumps and bruises when they tumbled over while learning to crawl and walk. You were the first one to teach them about Jesus and to pray with and for them. You were the one who taught them how to say their first word, what sound a cow makes, and teach them songs. You were the first one to dry their tears after a long day and tell them that everything was going to be okay. You were the first one to help them explore the beautiful earth and creation God has given us. You were the first one to help them understand right from wrong and why it's important to be kind to others. You were the first one to show them self sacrificing love.

So while this time has been difficult and different than you probably imagined, just continue to be "mom", because at the end of the day, that's all your kids need you to be, and wow, that's more than enough. So thanks for being "mom". There's no one else that you need to be.

"And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart." Luke 2:51

SJB Moms,

A thousand thanks for everything you do that allows me to teach and learn from your children! From getting them out of bed every morning to late nights helping with projects and papers--my job would be impossible without you. With all of the major life adjustments we've had to make over the last couple months I know that each of you has made sacrifices to ensure your child continues to learn, grow, and thrive--because that's just what Moms do. From one teacher to another--thank you!
Happy Mother's Day! :)

  1. Amen. Thank you to our mothers !
I admire you, look up to you and wish you a peaceful weekend. God's blessings.
I know what I've received from my mother and words don't fill the depth of these graces.
I hope somehow this weekend you are shown the love and depth of the work you do each and everyday. May God strengthen you for the day.
The most precious jewels you'll ever have around your neck are the arms of your children.
    Happy Mother's Day!
